Stopped here on our way to Batchawana Bay and had a great time! Such a cute spot, staff is really nice, our cocktails were delicious and the food was super tasty! The shrimp toast and the asparagus special were are favorites of the meal, but everything was great. The portions were pretty big for us and we unfortunately didn’t have room for dessert but took the rest of the food with us and it was a nice snack later on :). We’ll definitely be back if we head through Saul St. Marie again.

Our first time to Ernie's, we will definitely be back to try out the entire menu! Their Creamsicle Sour was fantastic, delicately light with a satisfyingly sour punch of fruit and flavour! The Shrimp toast was freshly prepared, piled high with ingredients, and had an added touch of spice.

Best chicken sandwich in the Soo, hands down! Fries are amazing too! I've had it countless times now and still crave it all the time. If Ernie's was on Skip the Dishes I'd really be in trouble. Great work guys.

If you’re looking for an experience and a delicious meal - go here! Dine in for the whole experience of their wicked atmosphere. Best place in town. Chicken burger to die for. Coconut cream pie is a classic too. Amazing staff!!! Great chef!! 10/10

The food at Ernie’s is so good that we went two nights in a row while in town visiting family!! Every dish was creative and so flavourful. We shared the delicata squash with burrata, cauliflower wedge with curry chutney, arancini, pressed fried chicken and the best coconut cream pie with whipped cream we had ever tasted! The service was excellent and kudos to the bartender for some stellar cocktails! If you’re looking for a place with a great vibe, friendly staff mixed in with some high end food, get yourself to Ernie’s!

This is Brooklyn or Toronto’s Ossington in Sault Ste. Marie: a perfectly calibrated hipster vibe, beards and cute black tops and clever tats aplenty, and deep cuts bumping on the overhead Polks. My Pisco Sour was gorgeous, tasty and arrived in a vintage champagne glass. The scallop crudo was served on a delicate grandma plate and so was the delicious local trout. The low lighting is perfect. They could build a Soho House around this place. Apparently Ernie’s was once a regular diner now gone way upmarket, but they’ve kept some of the old familiars. I ended with coconut cream pie, which had just the right dash of old school to keep it real. Highly recommended.

This is my first time returning to Ernie's since the new ownership, and man I love the vibe, the food and service were great. Can't wait to go back and try some other dishes. I dig that it's a seasonal menu that's always changing, keeps things interesting.

John continues to make Ernie’s the go to place for local, seasonal and exceptional cooking. He will give you some traditional options but focus on his changing menu. It could be fresh fish, lamb or a beef specialty- but it will always be top notch. Hard not to be filled up with a soup, salad or appetizer and miss dessert. But you have to fit in the Spanish cheesecake which is a classic and always on. Note: some of the pics are from a birthday dinner I had there - so dishes were family style. I literally told him to surprise me and feed 14. He made oysters Rockefeller which were out of this world. All my out of town guests were blown away - and still talk about it.
